• Zum Verschmelzungsverhalten von definitem Artikel und Präposition in der Schriftsprache des Deutschen liegen bereits diverse Erkenntnisse vor, wohingegen die Kenntnislage für die gesprochene Sprache noch unzureichend ist. Die vorliegende Untersuchung widmet sich diesem Desiderat und analysiert Präposition-Artikel-Kombinationen anhand von Daten aus FOLK, um die linguistische Beschreibung dieser Struktur voranzutreiben. In der durchgeführten Korpusanalyse werden die Auftretenshäufigkeiten synthetischer und analytischer Präposition-Artikel-Kombinationen verglichen und Gebrauchsbesonderheiten auf syntaktisch-lexikalischer und pragmatischer Ebene herausgearbeitet.
• Various findings are already available on the contractions of German definite articles and prepositions in written language, whereas our knowledge of the situation in spoken language is still sketchy. The present study is dedicated to this desideratum and analyses the combination of preposition and definite article using data from FOLK with the aim of advancing the linguistic description of this structure. To this end we conduct a corpus analysis in order to compare the frequencies of synthetic and analytical combinations of preposition and definite article. The study also allows us to establish patterns of usage of such constructions on the syntactic-lexical and pragmatic levels.
