Untersuchungsgegenstand sind deutsche Dialekte in Tadshikistan im soziolinguistischen und historisch-linguistischen Kontext. Eingesetzt zur Erhebung von linguistischen und soziolinguistischen Materialien wurden der Wenker-Fragebogen und andere Fragebögen, die in Russland entwickelt wurden.

In the first part of the article, the situation of Germans in Russia will be put into the context of discussions about linguistic enclaves, minorities and linguistic identity in situations of language contact. The second part will focus on the effects of events related to the Second World War on the language development of the Germans in the former Soviet Union. Unlike the slow language change typical for many minorities, the Germans went through an abrupt, extensive decrease in the knowledge and use of the German language. The singular experience of loss and the corresponding impression on this minority left traces that are particularly noticeable among Russian Germans who have immigrated to Germany. After describing the historical status of German, the article turns to the current situation of the German minority in Russia. It then addresses German native-language instruction in Russia questioning finally whether it might be worthwhile to take into account the fact that the traditional form of German language used in Russia has elements of lower German (“niederdeutsche”), Hessian and other dialects. This could serve to emphasize the particularities of their own language tradition.

The present contribution addresses an infrastructural issue of universal relevance, addressed in the specific context of the TEI. We describe a combination of open-source tools and an open-access approach to creating knowledge repositories that have been employed in building a bibliographic reference library for the “TEI for Linguists” special interest group (LingSIG). The authors argue that, for an initiative such as the TEI, it is important to choose open, freely available solutions. If these solutions have the advantage of attracting new users and promoting the initiative itself, so much the better, especially if it is done in a non-committal way: no one using the LingSIG bibliographic repository has to be a member of the LingSIG or a “TEI-er” in general.
This paper focuses on the origin of the V2 property in the history of Germanic. Considering data from Gothic and Old English (OE), it is suggested that the historical core of the V2 phenomenon reduces to V-to-C movement that is triggered in operator contexts. Therefore, the historical system shares basic propertieswith limited V2 in Modern English. It is shown that apparent deviations from this pattern that can be observed in Gothic can be attributed to the influence of Greek word order. Concerning the apparently more elaborate V2 properties of OE, it is claimed that a large part of them in fact do not involve a Spec-head relation, but rather result from linear adjacency between the clause-initial element and a finite verb located in T0. Special attention is paid to the placement of pronominal subjects in OE, which are claimed to occupy SpecTP. This contrasts with a lower position of full subjects due to the absence of an EPP in OE. Finally, the loss of superficial V2 orders in the Middle English period is attributed to the development of an EPP feature in T.
Das Deutsch der Migranten

Migration verändert unsere Gesellschaft nachhaltig. Sprache spielt dabei die zentrale Rolle. Sprachlich-kommunikative Prozesse bestimmen Bildungs- und Karrierechancen der Migranten, die kulturelle Teilhabe an Herkunfts- und Aufnahmekultur und die Herstellung von interpersoneller Solidarität, Ab- und Ausgrenzung. Der Jahrgangsband 2012 widmet sich dem Deutsch der Migranten in seinen linguistischen, soziologischen und pädagogischen Dimensionen. Im Brennpunkt steht, wie Migranten das Deutsche erwerben, verändern und in Relation zu den Herkunftssprachen benutzen:
- Wie gestaltet sich der Erwerb von Deutsch als Zweitsprache unter dem Einfluss unterschiedlicher Erstsprachen?
- Welche ein- und mehrsprachigen Weisen des Sprechens und Schreibens benutzen Migranten? Welche strukturellen Besonderheiten weist ihr Deutsch auf?
- Welche Rolle spielen Sprache und Kommunikation für die Ausbildung, Bewahrung und Transformation von Identitätsentwürfen und biographischen Selbstverständnissen?
- Wie gestalten sich Prozesse der sprachlichen Kommunikation von Migranten und Einheimischen?
- Wie hängen Sprache, Bildungs- und Berufssituation der Migranten zusammen?
