Tips on copyrights and rights of use

As the author, you agree to give a simple right of use to the Leibniz Institute for the German Language. It contains the electronical storage, the integration in databases, public access, the free reproduction and distribution of your work as well as long-time archiving. Please make sure, you are entitled to do so. In principal, you have the right to do so if you are the author of the document and did not transfer your right to third parties.

If your work has already been published by a publishing house, you must clarify with them which license conditions you have agreed upon with the publishing house and whether these might conflict with publication on this Publication Server. A planned publication with a publishing house is not necessarily a conflict not to publish your work on this Publication Server. Please make sure to clarify if you are entitled to publish your work on this server! A summary of information about what individual publishers allow in the context of their "standard publishing contracts" regarding self-archiving of academic publications can be found on the SHERPA/RoMEO list (Publisher’s copyright & archiving policies) with the SHERPA initiative (Securing a Hybrid Environment for Research Preservation and Access). If you would like to publish your work simultaneously on our Publication Server and with a publisher, you must make sure that you have a suitable contract addenda.

For all documents that are published in electronic form (e-documents) using data networks such as this Publication Server, German copyright law is fully applicable. Further information regarding copyrights can be found on http://open-access.net/. The user is responsible for compliance with these regulations and may be held liable in case of abuse.
