N2  - Der vorliegende Beitrag beschreibt auf der Basis authentischer Alltagsinteraktionen das Formen- und Funktionsspektrum der äußerungsmodalisierenden Kommen-tarphrase ohne Scheiß im gesprochenen Deutsch. Die Konstruktion wird von Inter-agierenden insbesondere als Ressource zur Steigerung des Geltungsanspruchs einer Bezugsäußerung genutzt, wodurch diese als wahr und/oder ernstgemeint modali-siert wird. Damit leistet ohne Scheiß einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Bearbeitung des Erwartungsmanagements durch den/die SprecherIn sowie zur Herstellung von In-tersubjektivität. Die Konstruktion ist syntaktisch variabel und kann somit Äußerun-gen sowohl prospektiv als auch retraktiv modalisieren. Zudem wird mit der Wahl des Lexem Scheiß ein nähesprachliches Register aktiviert, was in Verbindung mit weiteren (prosodischen und/oder lexikalischen) Elementen zu affektiver Aufladung führen kann. Eine abschließende Darstellung häufiger lexikalischer Kookkurrenz-partner und deren funktionaler Bedeutung sowie ein Abgleich zu intrakonstruktio-nalen Varianten wie ohne Witz/ohne Spaß zeigt die Produktivität der Konstruktion im alltäglichen Sprachgebrauch auf.
N2  - This contribution describes the formal and functional range of the utterance-modi-fying phrase ohne Scheiß ('no shit') based on authentic everyday communication in spoken German. Interlocutors use this construction in order to increase the validity of their utterance while expressing its modality as honest and/or serious. It is argued that ohne Scheiß seeks to affect the recipient's interpretation of the assertion before-hand and is used to establish intersubjectivity. The construction is variable in its syntactic position and it can either be used prospectively or retrospectively. Addi-tionally, the informal term Scheiß indexes immediacy, which can be used as a marker for the speaker's increased emotional stance towards a statement. Finally, the productivity of this construction in everyday interactions is shown by a descrip-tion of the most frequent co-occurrences and their functional meaning as well as by the comparison of intraconstructional varieties like ohne Witz/ohne Spaß ('no joke/fun').
