  abstract  = {Variation in spoken Standard German as well as in various regional varieties of German has not yet been covered in full detail. This paper sketches a new research project concerned with the empirical analysis and systematic documentation of phonetic-phonological variability in spoken German. The aim of this project is to set up a corpus-based databank of pronunciation variants, which can be used for various purposes, e.g. by scholars and teachers of German as a foreign language.},
