N2  - The constantly changing requirements of today’s media landscape demand a new concept for literary editions. Such a forward-looking model should be SGML/XML-based, and should acknowledge the central importance of topic maps. In this respect, the Thomas Mann project combines in a unique way the work of one of the most famous authors of the 20th century with an innovative way of information organization.
